The first structure at Makanda by the Sea was the Large Villa, originally designed as a home. This villa now hosts three attractive Studios 2 and 4 and Studio 3, on the lower level and the larger "Villa 1" on the upper level. It is unique in that these rooms may remain private, or may be interconnected in various combinations (to accommodate up to 8 guests) by way of gardens, patios, and stairways. All rooms are fully equipped to accommodate guests needs as a group or independently, and all offer private entrances.
The other Villas 5, Villa 6, and Villa 10, are set in the rainforest along the mountainside, and have their own private Japanese gardens. As with most of our rooms, expansive bi-fold doors open onto large terraces, making nature part of the home. From each private terrace to the king size beds, the closeness of the jungle is always present. From the fully equipped kitchens to the comfortable bathrooms, rainforest and ocean views keep your eyes fixed on the beauty out your windows at all times. These Villas with their vaulted ceilings, large wrap around sofas, hand-crafted tiles and exotic hardwoods add just the right touch to make your stay in the jungle one of elegance.
