Jaco Beach and Manuel Antonio National Park

Jaco Beach - Is located approximately 2 ½ hours from San Jose where you will find long stretches of beaches with a consistent beach break.  Surfers are attracted to this destination for its constant waves and fun night life.  The town of Jaco features souvenir shops, seafood restaurants, pizza joints, and bars.  Just outside the town, you will find a lush tropical rainforest and miles of empty beaches which are visible from the surrounding hillsides.  Also nearby (9 miles north) is the Carara Biological Reserve, a world renowned nesting ground for scarlet macaws.  The Reserve offers trails through the rainforest and the opportunity to sight caimans,
coatimundis, armadillos, sloths and many different species of birds.

Manuel Antonio Beach
Manuel Antonio Beach - Is one of the most beautiful locations in the entire country.  It is here where the rainforest meets the Pacific Ocean.  This feature creates amazing views from the hills above and an amazing jungle that is home to many forms of exotic wildlife.  You can expect to see white-faced and squirrel monkeys, three-toed sloths, purple-and-orange crabs, and many other species of birds, mammals and plant life.  Manuel Antonio is home to one of the smallest national parks (1,700 acres) and is by far the most popular in Costa Rica.  The nearly perfect sand beaches and the many walking trails to adventure through the rainforest are what make this park so popular.  While visiting Manuel Antonio, you can easily venture into the town of Quepos.  Here you will find excellent shopping, restaurants, and small bars for night life.

Corcovado National Park

Corcovado National Park - The largest single expanse of lowland tropical rainforest in Central America. Corcovado is a 134,768 acre area of humid rainforest and 5,930 acres of ocean protected by the Costa Rica government. It is also one of the most famous areas of biological diversity and conservation in the world. This virgin rainforest is one of the wildest and most beautiful spots in Costa Rica. There is practically no animal species in Costa Rica that can’t be found here. Also, located on the northern side of the Osa Peninsula is the Caño Island. Caño Island is a tropical paradise with white sand beaches and crystal clear water, perfect for snorkeling and diving.
